The Domaine de l'enclos of the brothers Romain and Damien Bouchard was only founded in 2006. Most of the vineyards come from their parents' family estate, which previously operated under the Domaine Pascal Bouchard. Accordingly, they have their own vineyards, which they have also been cultivating organically since 2007. In 2019, a pleasantly relaxed vintage prevailed after the spring frost. Almost boring and without any fungal pressure. This vintage is correspondingly balanced in the glass.

La Fourchaume is a way of describing the Fourchaume vineyard and is the responsibility of the winegrowers from the village of La Chapelle-Vaupel Teigne. The vines were partly planted in the 1950s by Romain and Damien's grandfather. Their father added another part in the 1980s. The limestone is found under the clay layer. The site faces west and is clearly warmer.

Color

Light straw yellow, delicate green reflections

Nose

The nose initially shows plenty of wet limestone and wet chalk. Salt dough also reveals itself. Peel of red apples as well as quince and lemon thyme are the dominant representatives in the nose. Stewed apple with cinnamon suddenly comes to mind. A little fennel, aniseed and also ethereal hints of mint set off spicy scent marks. Lemon zest, candied ginger and stinging nettle make a successful conclusion.

Palate

On the palate, it is full of tension and drinking flow. It shows a clear edge and seems to be very precisely worked out. The acidity is wonderfully integrated, but always sets off peaks. The soil comes through in the expected cool manner. A slight spiciness surrounds it, but is immediately buffered by the melting sensation. In the finish, it oscillates between yellow fruitiness and delicate smoky notes.
