Wine Description:

This excellent red wine is a blend of different grape varieties: Merlot with 41 %, Cabernet Franc with 26 %, Tempranillo with 9 %, Cabernet Sauvignon with 7 %, Petit Verdot with 9 % and Syrah with 8 %. The grapes for this wine come from the best vineyards in Manincor as well as from Seehof and Panholzerhof, where Stella Alpina has its optimal location on the south-eastern slopes at an altitude of 250-280 m, overlooking the nearby lake. Here, the wine is enthroned on powerful, sandy loam soils interspersed with limestone gravel and glacial deposits.

During the ageing process, each grape variety was vinified separately. The maceration took place in wooden vats with natural yeast. The maceration time was ten to twenty days, depending on the grape variety. After this time, the wine spent eighteen months in barrique barrels, half of which were new. Only shortly before bottling were the individual wines brought together.

Visually, the wine presents itself in a deep dark garnet red that gently lightens at the edges. The 2020 Cassiano convinces with intense fruit reminiscent of sour cherries, wild raspberries and currants. The scent of noble tobacco, vanilla and freshly ground pepper becomes clear as soon as the wine rests longer in the glass. The aromas are accompanied by wild herbs such as rosemary, thyme and violets, which underline the fresh character and at the same time awaken the anticipation of the first sip.

The palate reveals a harmonious wine with supple tannins perfectly embedded in the juicy fruit. The herbal note underlines the lively impression. This red wine brings the promise of exceptional drinking pleasure and harmonises perfectly with intense, Italian-inspired cuisine.

Enjoy this wine preferably slightly chilled from a large glass.
