The Domaine Clau de Nell is without a doubt one of the cult wineries in the Anjou region of the Loire. This is not because of its long history, but because its founders produced excellent wines from the beginning between 2002 and 2008, but unfortunately, they were not very lucky from an economic point of view. Their wines attracted the attention of Anne-Claude Leflaive, a great Burgundian vintner, who first helped the vintners and later took over the Domaine Clau de Nell together with her husband and the Bourguignon couple, two soil scientists. Indeed, today, Clau de Nell produces some of the most Burgundian wines of Anjou, characterized by a fantastic balance of elegance and down-to-earthness. An absolutely unique terroir and vines up to 100 years old deliver Grolleau, Cabernet Franc, Chenin blanc, and the Cabernet Cuvée Violette full of character.
