The Vorgrimmler winery is one of the undisputed pioneers of organic viticulture in Baden. The winery has been working organically for more than 30 years, and has been Demeter certified since 2006. Located on the southern Tuniberg, which rises out of the Rhine plain to the west of Freiburg, Vorgrimmler's vineyards are situated in the Tuniberg and the Kapellenberg. On 3.2 hectares, May Britt and Klaus Vorgrimmler dedicate themselves exclusively to the cultivation of Burgundy. An exception among the Burgundy varieties is the PiWi Cabernet blanc, newly bred in 1991, which only accounts for a small part of the vineyard area. Grown on the fertile loess soils, the grapes are hand-picked before being spontaneously fermented with their own yeasts. Unfined and without the use of animal products, the wines are also suitable for vegans.

Nose

The 2019 Cabernet blanc from Vorgrimmler is yellow-fruity with a clear vegetal touch on the nose. Apricots and yellow ripe apples as well as mirabelles mingle with tomato leaves and yellow bell peppers to form a wild aromatic mix reminiscent of the Balkans. Herbs like lemon thyme and rosemary aromatically round off the summery roundelay.

Mouth

On the palate, the nose mirrors and embeds its ripe fruit in a spicy animating bed of Sauvignon-typical flavors. Supported by a slender 11.5% and a harmoniously integrated acidity, it flows without an ounce of bacon on the hip with a creamy melt in a rapid flow from the glass to its final destination.
