Wine information
Bruno of Cologne was the founder of the Carthusian Order. On the façade of the former Karthäuserhof monastery in Trier-Eitelsbach, which was founded in 1335, the monks affixed Bruno's name in large metal letters. This line of the Karthäuserhof was named after Bruno, the bottler of these wines.
Color
light lemon yellow
Nose
The BRUNO Riesling Kabinett feinherb opens with a nose of smoke, wet slate and yeast combined with green pears and yellow apples, green plums, limes and lemons. In addition, there are garden herbs and some lanolin. This has an animating and appetising effect.
Palate
On the palate, this is a Cabinet in pure culture. Light and lively, it dances across the palate, builds up a pleasant pressure and comes across as quaffable and juicy with lots of citrus fruit. The acidity balances the residual sweetness, embraces the bright fruit and pulls it along. This Riesling is bright as a flash, slightly tart in its slate aroma, precise in its acidity and also - as already in the bouquet - somewhat smoky and also slightly salty. This is exactly the style that makes for great drinking, especially since the wine is pleasantly uncomplicated.
