The Le Chiuse winery is a true piece of history in Tuscany. Brunello di Montalcino goes back to Ferruccio Biondi Santi. In 1988, he laid the foundation for today's appellation. In 1970, Fiorella Biondi Santi inherited Le Chiuse generations later and leased the land to her brother. From 1970 to 1993, the grapes from the vineyards of Le Chiuse were used to make Biondi Santi's famous Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. Great vintages and legendary wines from this cult winery date from this era. At the end of this period, Simonetta Valiani inherited the land from her mother and began producing her own wines under the name Le Chiuse with the 1992 vintage.

Le Chiuse cultivates only one grape variety, Sangiovese grosso. The wines are rather traditional in their style. Artisanal, expressive and powerful. Their wines are accessible without hiding their origin and tradition.
