Casa Coste Piane is located in the heart of the classic Prosecco region in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene. The farm covers a good six hectares, all of which are farmed organically. The vineyards are situated between 250 and 400 metres above sea level on lean marl soils, the vines are on average 80 years old. Coste Piane's vine material comes exclusively from selected vines, propagated with the selection Massale for a well-mixed gene pool without clones. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand and only the juice from the first pressing, the tete de cuvée, is used before the must ferments spontaneously with its own yeasts. In spring, the must, which is not yet complete, is racked according to ancient tradition to finish fermentation in the bottle. Casa Coste Piane is part of the Consorzio Vini Veri, which aims to produce natural wines and restore the perfect balance between human intervention and the cycles of nature.

The Brichet is grown on an old moraine hill that was formed during the last ice age and consists of blue, solidified sedimentary clay, marl and sandstone. The soils are rich in fossil and mineral inclusions, which give the wine its juiciness and minerality.

Color

Pale yellow with green reflections and silky opacity.

Nose

The nose of Brichet by Casa Coste Piane is intense with a high density of aromas. Lime blossom, lilac and some elderberry mark the top note, followed by citrus aromas of lime zest. The heart note is characterised by contouring yeast notes.

Mouth

The fine bubbly mousseux of the natural fermentation carbonic acid outlines the Brichet, underpinned by an almost creamy feel. The fruit is rich in extract and juicy, the harmonious, ripe acidity arch stretches far across the palate. A joyful and uncomplicated wine from a time before the industrialisation of this regional speciality. No more, but also no less. Authentic in the best sense of the word.
