2021 Bric del Salto, Dolcetto d'Alba, Az. Agr.
Sottimano, Neive, Piedmont/Italy
Andrea Sottimano's Dolcetto d'Alba Bric del salto comes from three different vineyards with old vines in Neive Cottá, Basarin and San Cristoforo. The name Bric Del Salto was the original name of the first small Dolcetto vineyard acquired by Sottimano in the 1970s.
Fermentation and maceration take place on the skins and usually last 20-25 days. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with our own yeasts, and the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, where it matures for six months on the fine lees before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Color
Dark ruby red with black core.
Nose
Dense and voluptuous, the 2021 Bric del Salto Dolcetto d'Alba from Sottimano unabashedly flaunts fully ripe black cherries, egg plums and blackberries. This immodest appearance is complemented by tart spicy accents of black nuts and distinctive floral notes of hollyhocks and mallow. Aromatic spices like allspice and cloves make the wheel go round.
Mouth
Super juicy with fleshy fruit and spicy bite, it opens on the palate and in 2021 shows itself a little more pointed at the top with sharp acidity and fine-grained tannins. The rich red fruit is reflected on the palate and shows itself in silky accompaniment of noble tannins with rapid drinking flow. A Dolcetto of the premium class.
