Color

In slightly translucent purple with a garnet red rim, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.

Nose

Under the sign of the red lightness of the wine, this graceful aromatic makes all the puppets dance.

Bright berry and wild red fruit, such as wild strawberry and cranberry, rosehip and cranberry wait excitedly next to the mortar for a proper portion of spice. This shows up bluntly in the form of chopped currant, delicate mossy aromas reminiscent of truffles and cocoa shell shavings, as well as pink pepper berries. The nose of this wine is characterized by delicacy, far from obtrusive, which is precisely what makes it so captivating.

Palate

Taut and straight as an arrow, the 2017 Perrières Rouge from Clos du Moulin aux Moines celebrates red fruitiness like a glass of fresh sour cherry juice. Its considered use of wood barrels, executed with great tact, its long-lasting acidity and the grippy tannins of a fine sandpaper ensure that it is already pleasurably easy to empty today, but in three years it will live out all its suppleness.

Lightly chilled, poured at 16°C, this wine embodies the reliable path to beautiful Burgundy.
