Wine information

Rémi Jobards Bourgogne Côte d'Or »Vieilles Vignes" comes exclusively from vines more than 40 years old from six parcels in Meursault. The indication of origin Burgundy Côte d'Or was introduced with the 2017 vintage and includes vineyards from 40 localities in the two Côtes with vineyards of at least 9,000 vines planted per hectare and a yield per hectare lower than that of the Burgundy AC. The indication of origin includes red as well as white wines.

The Bourgogne Côte d'Or »Vieilles Vignes" is vinified at Rémi Jobard with the same precision as all his wines. This also means that after spontaneous fermentation, the wine sits on its lees for almost two years, in Stockinger barrels and tonneaux.

Nose

Hui, you think involuntarily when you lift the glass to your nose for the first time. The 2018s Bourgogne Côte d'Or »Vieilles Vignes" is extraordinarily expressive, even at such a young age. In fact, the white open 2018s significantly earlier than the shyer 2017s. Here white blossoms and white peach, yellow pears and apples, some orange including abrasion and a breath of almonds are found.

Palate

On the palate, this - if you like - graduated Meursault an impressive power and energy. The quality of the old vines comes through here with clear minerality and liveliness. The white and yellow fruit is juicy, the texture distinctly charming and silky, the acidity ripe and also gentle, but remains present for a long time and provides freshness. This Burgundy one would like to drink very gladly already now. One may call this wine quite a real bargain.
