Lake Neusiedl is characterised by the Pannonian climate and is the warmest wine-growing region in Austria. On its eastern side, Zweigelt is the main red grape variety, producing fruity, velvety wines with a fine tannin structure. The precocious variety is grown on the Parndorfer Platte, whose soils are ideal for the demands of this soil-bound, precocious variety. The grapes come from organically certified cultivation and are exclusively harvested by hand.
Color
Purple red with black core and violet reflections.
Nose
Zweigelt without a doubt, says the nose and leans out of the olfactory window full-bodied with rich plum, heart cherries and black pepper, oscillating in parity between rich, ripe fruit and mild spices. Fun in a glass is the obvious motto here.
Mouth
An assumption that is immediately confirmed on the palate. The hedonistic fruit of the 2020 Blauer Zweigelt by Nittnaus is also juicy on the palate with exuberant fruit and impetuous drinking pleasure. Blueberries, a little plum roast and dark cherries feed the chewy fruit, clearly contoured by tightly meshed, almost silky tannin with a fine bitter aftertaste. Lightly chilled, it almost drinks itself.
