Color
Bright, delicate straw yellow with light reflections and discreet green inclusions.
Nose
The nose is clearly reminiscent of white bread and yeast plait. Freshly chopped almonds and other yeasty notes, like brioche, complement this very successfully. Fresh pear and green apples add fresh accents here and there. In this intensity, this is clearly identifiable as a Nashi pear. Honeydew melon provides intense, exotic influences. Light peach should also be mentioned here. Fresh herbs such as parsley, marjoram and mint provide plenty of herbal spice. Cubeb pepper and juniper add ethereal qualities to the spice. A light touch of bourbon vanilla rounds it off wonderfully. Behind it, it seems stony and chalky.
Palate
It piles up on the palate with a lot of pressure and melting. However, it does not lose its elegance or attractiveness. Its chalky substructure gives it a linear framework to which it clings. The minerality works brilliantly with this pressure and the acid structure. These typical, chalky, Riojan notes are hard to re-produce. Burgundian in a way and yet quite unique in the wine world. Its linear note also ships around the vanillic notes. With roasted nuts and positive bitters, it animates enormously. Yellow fruits, such as mango and peach, as well as saffron determine the aromatics in the finish.
