Champagne information:
The Chardonnay grapes of the Blanc d'Argile come from the Lieut-Dit Beaune, a vineyard with clay (Argile) in the topsoil and Kimmeridge limestone in the subsoil. Such Chardonnay grapes are also used in the neighbouring Chablis. The base wine was aged in used wood.
Color/Look:
Light golden yellow. Very fine bubbly, broadly spread mousseux.
Nose:
On the nose, the Blanc d'Argile Blanc Extra Brut R 16 is aristocratically restrained at first, revealing plenty of coolness, shellfish and stony notes. Fine citrus notes, young mango and a breath butter and white bread join after longer opening and are all the more present on the second day of opening.
Palate:
On the palate, it presents itself with fresh acidity in combination with its demanding, fine bubbly perlage. The salty, mineral aromas are concise and incredibly profound, with each sip the desire for another glass is increased. Longer openings serve this complex drop, which does not lose any freshness or perlage. The long finish leaves the impression of citrus fruits, green apple and salty minerality. More of it, please!
