Wine information
Brand new in the portfolio of Ca' La Bionda is the Bianco del CasalA cuvee of Gargagnega and Trebbiano from vines that are more than 70 years old. These are located above the winery in the Ravazzol monopollage. Four hours of soft pressing, one night for the lees to settle before the wine was then aged 50 % in new wood and 50 % in secondary wood.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
An intense bouquet of mainly yellow apples with a smaller share of pears and quinces emerges from the glass. At first, one has an association with Chenin from the Anjou region, because there is also a slight waxy note, floral elements as well as fresh stone fruit and citrus fruits. The fact that wood is also involved is experienced through a fine, restrained toasty aroma. But it's not Chenin, it's Garganega and Trebbiano from the Veneto region that shine here and smell more and more creamy and juicy at the same time while a fine flint note is slowly revealed.
Mouth
The wood gives the wine a creamy structure and an aromatic note, but does not overwhelm the fruit. This is juicy as well as present and is again composed of citrus fruits, stone and pome fruits, whereby yellow and green notes balance each other out. The latter in particular bring a lot of freshness to the wine, which has a fair amount of minerality. The wine has acidity and pressure until the long finish. It is a special discovery.
