For more than 400 years, the de Béru family has resided in their château in the village of Béru, not far from Chablis. Until the end of the 19th century and the outbreak of phylloxera, viticulture was the family's only source of income. In 1987, Comte Éric de Béru decided to replant the vineyards because of his passion for wine. Today, his wife Laurence and daughter Athénaïs run the estate. The Clos Béru, the estate's monopollage, is one of the famous sites of Chablis. The five-hectare plot owes its name to a wall dating back to the 13th century. It is located on the southern hills of the Béru valley at almost 300 meters above sea level.
