Information
The Pinot Blanc comes from the terraces on the Sulzfelder Cyriakusberg. This unusual name refers to terraces on the upper shell limestone slope that have not been cleared. The very stony and skeleton-rich soil faces south-southeast. The vines date from the 1960s and have never seen agricultural chemistry. When the Luckerts acquired the vineyard in 2007, they did not want to change this at all, which is why the vineyard was something of a trigger for their turn to organic viticulture. The Pinot Blanc was fermented and aged in large wood.
Color
intense straw yellow to golden yellow
Nose
The White Burgundy Terraces gives the impression of a charmer with many white and yellow fruity notes such as pear, some quince, mirabelle peach with a hint of mango. There are also notes of beeswax and some wood, smoke and nuts.
Palate
It continues slightly smoky on the palate. And this probably does not only come from the wood, it is also an expression of the shell limestone. The bright, fleshy and slightly sweet fruit is infused with a vibrant, energetic liveliness and pressure on the palate. This is minerality par excellence. At the same time, the wine appears full and juicy and creamy on the palate.
