Nose
No wonder the Luckerts were late filling the Riesling from barrel 67; for it still has neat reductive notes of pop and flint even now. It has become quite a rebellious Riesling, initially setting the pace with yellow and green citrus notes. Later you'll also find josta, crisp green as well as yellow apples and herbs, and you also imagine you can detect the shell limestone through it all.
Gambling
This Riesling presents itself like a Chablis. Cool, taut, with clear acidity and citrus fruit, the Mountain I into the memory. Only with air and a little warmer it becomes yellow-fleshed on the palate, creamy and increasingly citrusy and herbaceous, as if a little gin had been mixed into the Riesling. But you don't feel the alcohol here, even if it's not that low at 13.5 %. On the other hand, the freshness is present and continues into the long finish. This late filling is a real statement.
