Wine information
The wine comes from the single vineyard Kirchenstück in Hohen-Sülzen. This vineyard was mentioned as early as before the Thirty Years' War, so it has been under vines for more than 400 years. The slope of 150 meters with a gradient of 15 % is characterized by clayey calcareous stones, which you can grind in your hand. Thus, the vines have a very good supply of nutrients and the minerals from the highly calcareous subsoil are translated directly.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
The 2020s Great Growth from the Kirchenstück in Hohen-Sülzen shows itself as deep, set and resting in itself, slightly phenolic with notes of stone, undergrowth, stone fruit, nuts and some tobacco, furthermore it has dark citric notes.
Mouth
On the palate, the wine appears fluidly silky and elegant, fluid and lively, yet calm. It is still at the very beginning. It is white-fleshed at the front, with powerful pressure at the back. Although it shows ripe fruit, it seems cool with a pear and some stone fruit, with a little ripe lemon and a smooth white peach fruit. Then comes ground stone with a texture to match. This comes across as deep and tonic.
