Info about the wine
The wine with the silver label is a strict selection from Riesling grapes that grow in the chalky steep slopes of the Wonnegau around Hohen-Sülzen and the Zellertal. Harvested by hand, selected again at the sorting table, aged in large old double barrels and in stainless steel and left "sur lie" until well into spring.
Color
Brilliant golden yellow.
Nose
On the nose, the 2021 Riesling Eisquell reveals mirabelle, apricot and countless fresh citrus, orange and grapefruit aromas. This explosion of freshness is paired with countless herbal notes, ginger and a mineral depth that already makes a real statement in the entry-level segment of Battenfeld Spanier.
Palate
Pure freshness shows on the palate, paired with wonderful juiciness and again a lot of minerality, and that with only 12 Vol%.The long reverberation seduces after each glass to another one. What a wonderful prelude to a wine collection beyond compare!
