Info about the wine
Besides the Riesling, the Grüner Sylvaner, as the Silvaner is called in southern Rheinhessen, is the focus of all attention at Battenfeld Spanier. In the Wonnegau, the Silvaner has a centuries-old tradition here.
Color
Sparkling golden yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose
The 2021 Grüner Silvaner already impresses on the nose with its fresh and precise structure. Clear herbal aromas of sage, wild mint and yarrow start the wine, complemented by lime, grapefruit, Granny Smith apple and young mango. Stony and cool hints are also present.
Palate
Juicy and invigorating, it glides over the tongue with stimulating acidity and a fine tannin structure. Its finish is spicy and incredibly stimulating, the alcohol is moderate at only 12 vol%. Perfect to drink already in its youthful stage, especially in combination with creative herbal cuisine.
