Color
Muted garnet red with purple reflections and delicate lightening towards the rim.
Nose
The 2017 Barolo Via Nuova from Chiara Boschis & E. Pira & Figli knows how to beguile on the nose. Sweet light berries and sour cherries mingle with rose petals, cedar, cinnamon and sandalwood. Wild mint and thyme give it a fresh touch. With this wine, one is literally immersed in a distant and oriental world. Notes of minerality and graphite float above the brilliant scent of fruit, spices and flowers.
Palate
On the palate, it reveals itself with Burgundian finesse and a polished tannin structure. It is very invigorating due to the extremely animating acidity, almost floating, its higher alcohol is not noticeable in any way and is wonderfully integrated. A wonderful food companion to classic Piedmontese dishes, but also to Far Eastern cuisine an experience.
Recommendation
Those who wish to taste this wine in its youthful stage should enjoy it slightly chilled from a large Burgundy glass.
