Color
Muted garnet red with purple reflections and delicate lightening towards the rim.
Nose
Incense, wood smoke, fresh cinnamon, cadamom and clove dominate the nose of the 2012 Barolo Mosconi from Chiara Boschis & E.Pira & Figli. With oxygen, seductive fruit notes of wild raspberries, black cherries, sweet dates and figs join in. Accompanied by dark liquid chocolate. Mediterranean herbs like rosemary and thyme give this enchanting drop a refreshing touch.
Palate
Even though the nose of the 2012 Barolo Mosconi from Chiara Boschis & E.Pira & Figli is already relatively open, its youth is still clearly noticeable on the palate. Its youthful acidity and still firm tannin structure pleasantly challenge the palate. In this youthful stage, this wine prefers to be paired with full-bodied cuisine. Great maturity and development potential.
Recommendation
If you want to taste this wine in its youthful stage, decant it at least 2-3 hours beforehand and serve it in a large Burgundy glass.
