Nose

The 2017 Barolo Castiglione from Vietti is a delicate Barolo with a beguiling aroma of bright red berries, floral fragrance of rose petals and rosehip, and fine cedar and cinnamon. With a little opening, the impression of incense, marzipan, nougat and latte floats out of the glass. Great curiosity and the desire to taste it spread.

Palate

On the palate, it reveals itself with finesse, complexity and a ripe, but still youthfully demanding tannin and acid structure, which is skillfully absorbed by its fine fruit sweetness. A beautiful long distance runner that still has a few years of aging potential ahead of it. A Barolo that seems weightless and is able to put its taster into a state of wonderful weightlessness.

Recommendation

The impatient are advised to decant it at least two hours before enjoying and to combine it from a large glass to a rich and aromatic cuisine.
