Color

Clear, shiny and leisurely drawing its streaks, the "wine" shows itself in the red-brown of a brick with dark amber-colored edges.

Nose

A dense complex nose announces itself and waits to be explored in its depth. Aromas of pear braised in red wine with clove, cinnamon and cranberries put you in the mood for roast venison. Plum jam with allspice and juniper berry, as well as sloe and the slightly anise-like scent of fennel seeds reveal themselves in the swirled large glass. All this is lolling on a fragrance bag filled with thyme, lavender and rosemary, as well as olive herb and slightly balsamic notes of valerian and orange oil.

Palate

On the palate, the Barolo Chinato from Roagna tells a very personal story. On the one hand dense, full-bodied and full of spice, the herb-flavoured Nebbiolo is at the same time delicate, elegant and playful and glides over the palate with the graceful surefootedness of a lynx. It cannot and will not deny its Barolo origins, but does not carry them before it, instead living through them in harmony with the ethereal spice of its herbaceous blend. Delicate tannins give it firmness, depth and long-lasting persistence.
