Info about the winery
Our prized vineyard "Moulin aux Moines", in Auxey-Duresses, is an exclusive parcel of the tranquil estate. The part called "Vieille Vignes" was planted in the 1950s on an altitude difference of 298 metres, facing north-east.

Wine soil
The particular soil conditions here have a unique character and are steeper, drier and much deeper than elsewhere.

Processing method
Our grape harvest is done by hand, with a yield of 38-44 hl/ha. We ferment the wine in used barrique barrels for 16-18 months, resulting in a total production of 4000 bottles.

Colour scheme
The wine's lush ruby red gleams clearly and brings out bright violet reflections.

Bouquet
After uncorking, the 2017 Auxey-Duresses Vielles Vignes offers us a cool and finely structured bouquet. Fruity notes of sloe, blackberry and blackcurrant combine with the earthy tones of leather, tobacco and stony notes. With a sufficient amount of oxygen, notes of noble dark chocolate and violets also emerge.

A treat for the palate
On the tongue, it is determined and fresh, with dark berry notes. Its silky smooth structure caresses the tongue with feminine lightness, pleasant acidity and fine-grained tannins. The moderate alcohol content of just 12.5 vol% makes for a special drinking pleasure. A fine and at the same time powerful wine!

Serving suggestion
For maximum enjoyment, we recommend decanting and then serving in a Burgundy glass.

Alternative food recommendations
Enjoy this wine together with roasted beetroot and chanterelles. A coq au vin with crispy bacon is also a great combination. Or try it with glazed pork belly with sweet potato puree and lightly fried pak choi.
