Nose
2020 Xion Albariño from Attis is simply a banker in terms of fruit-driven varietal typicity of this Galician parade grape variety. Plenty of yellow and exotic fruits cavort in the glass and vie for supremacy. Mirabelle plums and ripe peaches. Honeydew melon, grapefruit, but also mango and passion fruit. Candied ginger and orange blossom and zest are the ideal complement. A delicate honey note buzzes underneath. A little flint, cold smoke and hay round off this perfect nose.
Palate
On the palate, it's right there. Xion is totally in the juice - knee-deep. Expansive and playful. The intense fruit is now contrasted by an edgy, cool counterpart. Grassy and salty nuances also shine through. The acidity has a piquant effect and sensationally enlivens the moment in the glass. With a fine astringent note, it demands more. Lean and racy on the palate despite all the sprawling fruit aromas. The aromas of the nose are clear and distinct. A little almond and chamomile characterise the finish.
