Nose
The Loureiro from Aphros in 2020 successfully combines pome fruits with garden herbs and citrus fruits. Freshly cut pear as well as yellow apples provide familiar scents and a little freshness. Lemon balm, lemon thyme, a little parsley and mint add a dimension to the nose. The ethereal spiciness has a truly cooling effect and provides plenty of elegance. A smoky accent whirs around in the background very delicately, which arranges itself very well with the stony components. Lemon zest and a little grapefruit round it off.
Palate
The great strength of Galician white wines is and remains their finesse. Despite all their lightness and elegance, they manage to implement an aromatic depth in the wines. One could almost compare this with the phenomenon of light Riesling qualities from cool climates. Full of energy and radiance, this light "little water" succeeds in picking up the connoisseur. The pome fruit together with the delicate herbal nuances form the dominant part on the palate and in the reverberation. Its stony, slightly mineral character makes it easy to drink. At the same time, acidity and saltiness play stimulatingly with each other. A very good everyday wine in the best sense of the word.
