Color
Dark purple red with violet reflections.
Nose
The Vinhao tends to reduce and therefore requires the carafe. Then bumped black berry fruits, sour cherries and dried fruit show up. Dark aromas of camphor, black tobacco and spices make the aroma wheel go round in circles.
Mouth
With feet stepped in the Lagar and matured in steel this Vinhao shows itself extremely domestziert with close-meshed, polished tannins and racy acid. Dark-fruited and spicy, it is nourishing and vital, idiosyncratic and individual. A wine that does not want to please, but stands as what it is, even if in contemporary thread. An artifact of its origin that draws its charm from its rusticity. Authentic, pure and without make-up.
