Info

Cuvée Elena is based on an assemblage of Chardonnay, Auxerrois and Pinot Meunier.

Color

Bright straw yellow, light to green reflections

Nose

The nose exudes bright and yellow fruits intensely and loudly. Pear, quince and green apple have a rendezvous with apricot and pineapple. The pineapple has a distinct roasted note. Thoughts of candied pineapple and candied ginger are also obvious. Green almonds and fresh herbs like lemon balm and sage provide pleasantly tart and ethereal notes. The yeast lager is present but does not push itself to the fore. Yeast plait, buttered toast and brioche come to the fore in pleasant doses. Only very subtly does it recall oyster shells and maritime attributes.

Palate

On the nose, it immediately appears slender, grippy and precise. The minerality directly takes the lead. Together with the well-dosed acidity, this is a welcome pairing. Contrary to expectations, the yeasty notes also come out more clearly. The carbonic acid is absorbed with a delicate melt. Sensory-wise, this transitions into peach creaminess. Across the palate, it runs mildly and pleasantly. It cleans up and generates the desire for more. The creamy characteristics are now completely discarded and it moves into the lean part. In the aftertaste, the nuances of almonds, herbs and quince lead the way.
