Nose
Composed of the native varieties Biancu Gentile, Riminese, Genovese as well as Vermentinu, Altare shows a lot of intensity and variety, to which the spontaneous fermentation in barrels contributes. The aromas of apricots, orange zest, yellow peaches and green figs combine with notes of white pepper, herbs of the maquis, vanilla, cardamom as well as nutmeg to a refined whole, in which the wild nature of the Clos Venturi echoes.
Mouth
Altare starts with silky richness, fine creaminess and lots of sweet fruit of apricots, melons, passion fruit. From this, a gripping fine-grained vibration suddenly emerges and with it the impression of primal, pithy, at the same time stony. The lively acidity hints at lemons, the fine bitter tones at kumquats, which combine with elegant oak spice and an accent of anise. Its youthful impetuousness is fun and enjoyable, but it will only show its true grandeur after four to five years.
