Color
In bright shining gold the wine shows itself clear and shining in the glass.
Nose
This Corsican cuvée from the Biancu Gentile, Genovese, Rimenese and Vermentino varieties impresses with a fragrant yet profound exoticism right from its first nose. With haunting complexity, the wine makes it clear that you will thank the carafe very much. With yellow-fleshed fruit that moves from dried mango and apricot to fresh banana and pineapple trunk, the wine never skids or drifts into kitschy tutti frutti flavours. At the same time, it always suggests a certain astringency through the subtle hint of matcha tea. With the spiciness of a fennel salad with orange-olive oil vinaigrette with chervil and green pepper, it seduces the palate.
Palate
The 2017 Altare from Clos Venturi glides across the palate as if it were its freestyle on a balance beam. With the yellow fruit of fresh mirabelle plums and figs, it brings out its tea-like characteristics. Silky texture, restrained acidity and a stout, powerful body facilitate its light-hearted enjoyment, yet unconsciously allow the complexity of this uncompromising confession of origin to be explored with each sip at the same time.
Long live empiricism!
